I did some creating today...

So, I had these two canvases I wanted to alter to hang in my scraproom. I made one for Mikey and one for Lij. I am kind of liking the Mikey one better...not sure why. I'm not liking all the empty brown space at the top of Elijah's. Maybe I can think of something to add to it that I'll be happier with. I had a really hard time "glueing" the paper to the canvas. I used Modge Podge for Mikey's, but it "warped" the paper a bit on one side :( For Lij's, I used those sticky mounting tabs, but don't know if that is going to hold indefinately. Anyone have any ideas as to what I could use on Lij's? I don't want to Modge Podge over the tops of them so that's out of the question. Anyway, there they are. Just wanted to share. It's late and I really should get to bed. Night :)

Some Shopping

Last Saturday, I stopped by 911 to get some of the new Primas they had just gotten in, but they were pretty cleaned out! This was all I could find of what I had wanted! I also got myself two packages of Daisy D's rubons. Those are really cool!!

I'm Back!

We just got back from Port Aransas yesterday afternoon. It was a kind of last minute trip that turned out to be okay. We left on Thursday...kind of off to a late start as we always are! We went to the Texas Aquarium there and that was nice. Mikey loved looking at all the fish especially the dolphins! By the time we left there and made it to the beach, the sun was starting to go down so we decided to get a room and stay the night and hit the beach for a bit in the morning. For never having seen or been in the ocean, Mikey didn't hesitate one second. He just ran right up and jumped in the water! This boy LOVES the water! Lij does too I guess but he's afraid of ALOT of things. He spent alot of time in the car because ppl had their dogs there and anyone who knows Elijah, knows his irrational fear of dogs! We only stayed about an hour and a half because it was a little chilly and was afraid Mikey would end up getting sick. But the kids had fun and it was nice to get away for a couple of days. So other than having to hear Mikey whine the whole time we were in the car, it was a good trip!

Bad blogger :(

Okay, I'm being bad about keeping up with my blog already!! Miguel has been on vacation since Saturday so I haven't spent much time on the computer. We've been out and about alot which is good because I don't get out of the house normally when he's working! I've been reorganizing and decorating my scraproom a bit. I got some sage green canvas bins to hold some of my stuff and get rid of alot of the plastic containers I had. I also got myself a new lamp, a CD player for listening when I'm in there, and some new curtains that I just LOVE! I'll be doing some more stuff and hopefully painting too while Mal is on vacation. I'll take some pics and post them when I'm done. I did manage to do a LO today for a challenge on Secret Group. It was a PITA to cut and paste all those letters, but I love the way it looks! TFL :)

Feeling Tired

Okay, so I have felt SO tired today! Aside from not sleeping much at night because Mikey is in the bed with us, I stayed up late waiting for Miguel to finish up a Science project he had told Lij he would help him do, but didn't because he got home too late as always and Lij was already asleep. We bought him this volcano making kit from Michael's and it SUCKED big time! We followed the instructions exactly, but the plaster we had to use to cover the plastic volcano form was drying WAY TOO quickly and it just kept sliding off the side. It looked horrible! I wish I had taken pics because after Mal got done with it, it looked AWESOME! He put some kind of plaster on it and then sprayed it with some spray texture stuff. He also put it on a base that he spray painted green to look like grass and spray painted the volcano too...red lava and all!! I glued some toy dinosaurs, a mammoth, some people and some fake plants to it! It looked pretty good! It's going to be on display at tomorow's Open House at Lij's school. I'm sure he will get it back and I'll take pics and post them. Lij said all his friends thought it was REALLY cool! Miguel redeemed himself...KIND OF!! :)
So since I was so tired today, when Mikey took a nap, I did too! My sis called me to wake me up so I could go get Lij. Mikey was still asleep and I could have slept on too if I didn't need to get going. I need some MAJOR, UNINTERRUPTED sleep BADLY!!
I made some pumpkin bread today...from scratch! Yeah, I was pretty proud! LOL My sis had made some Pillsbury pumkin bread and kept talking about it and making me want some. Since I knew I wasn't going to be able to go to the store soon, I made some myself. At first it didn't taste so hot....maybe because it had just come out of the oven, but once it cooled, it was really yummy! Lij and Mikey loved it!! Lij said the sweetest thing to me after he ate the bread. He said "You are good at making bread, mom." And I said, "I'm good at alot of things." And then he says, "You know what you're the best at?" And I asked him "what?" And he says, "Taking care of our family." Awww! I thought that was very sweet! Elijah is such a sweet, loving boy and I hate it, but most days with Mikey driving me batty and taking up ALL, yes ALL my time...I tend to overlook him alot! The guilt I feel for it!
You'd think that after all that scrapping and altering I did in the last couple of days, I'd be "scrapped out" for a few days, but NO! I have an itch to do some scrapping. It's almost 7:30 though and Mikey is "CLAMPED ON" to me and I don't think he's going to let me. Can someone please tell Mikey that they cut the cord a little over two years ago and he CAN move away from me? I don't think he's aware of it!

I finished the tag book

After lots of problems with my Kodak Easy Share program THEN my printer, I finally was able to print out some pics and finish up the tag book that is going inside the little altered purse. I really love the way it turned out! I hope my sister likes it! :)

Something I worked on today

I worked on altering this little cardboard purse thing that me and Tammy got at the Dollar Tree on our little shopping spree this past Thursday (was it Thursday?). I used some papers that I got at Target. Can't remember the brand, but it was called Scribbles Pallette. Anyway, I am going to give it to my sister. Inside there is going to be a little tag accordian book. I already made that, but haven't added the pics or anything yet. I think it came out pretty good! I will post pics of the tag book when I'm done with it! TFL :) And good night. I swear, this will be my LAST post! LOL I'm getting a little carried away with the whole blog thing! See, what you started, Tammy! LOL :)

Some of my favorite scrappy things....

Tammy wanted me to post some of the things I have on my walls in my sb room so I decided to post some pics of some of my favorite things in there!
The first pic is of my stamps...well, SOME of my stamps. I have my acrylic stamps in another spot as well as my wooden stamp sets.
The second pic is of one of my little Happy Bunny figures. I just LOVE Happy Bunny. I'm thinking of getting this poster I saw at Wal Mart of Happy Bunny and framing it and putting it up in my room. I hope it doesn't look weird for a 35 year old woman to have that on her wall!! LOL
The third pic is my shelf with my blooms, my AC felt and plastic flowers which I just LOVE, and my loose ribbons.
The next last two pics are some 8x8 LO's I mounted on chipboard and have displayed on these plate racks. I have a couple more pics, but I think I'm going to have to make another post because it wouldn't allow me to add any more pics!! TFL :)

My Scrap Room

Here are some recent pictures of my scraproom. I put my tables up on bed risers because I wasn't getting much accomplished sitting in a chair with my two year old climbing on my chair and up on my table! I really love standing up to scrap and don't know how I ever did it any other way. It's much easier for moving around the room and getting stuff! I really like it. I plan on painting my room in the next coming week when Miguel is on vacation. I'm not sure on the color yet. I have alot of black accents so I want it to work with that. Maybe I could do the whole pink, black and white theme I originally wanted! YEAH! That would be so pretty! I'd need to change out my curtains though. I'll post pics when it's done!
