How Beautiful
I came across this on Jayme Shepherd's blog and just HAD to post it! What a beautiful way to look at our struggles in life! I hope this blesses someone's day!
A living HouseGod is building you!by C.S. Lewis
C. S. Lewis quote. God's work in our lives can be painful, but His ultimate goal is to transform us into something better.
Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what he is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on: you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised.
But presently he starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is he up to? The explanation is that he is building quite a different house from the one you thought of — throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards.
You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but he is building up a palace. He intends to come and live in it himself.

some layouts
Whew! So I finally got some scrapping done! I was in a rut there for a bit. I hate it when that happens, but sometimes even though I have the time to scrap, I just don't "feel" like it or have any ideas! I can always find some inspiration on 2 Peas. All three of the LOs I did were inspired from LOs I have saved in my BOS there.
I'm really loving the distressed look of the MME papers lately. Which is good because I think I have like four or five different pads of those MME 180 sheet pads from HL so at least I'm making a "small" dent in those! It's funny how my style and preferences on papers and stuff changes. It's neat to see that when I look back on all my LOs! TFL :)

Dum, dum, de, dum.....
Yep, this is what we do when we go shopping at Hobby Lobby! My sis was looking for some beaded garland stuff and corsage pins and we ended up in the bridal stuff aisle and decided to have a little fun! Thank God I carry my camera EVERYWHERE! Awww...look at us..makes me want to have a BIG wedding!!
And check out that rock!! LOL :)
My sis and I hit up Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Scrapbook Heaven and Big Lots and look at the GREAT loot we got there!! American Crafts matchbook rubons for TWO bucks!!! Those things sell at HL or SB 911 for at least $10!! Also found some AC stickers for a buck and those cute Heidi Grace stick pins for a buck!
Here's a LO I did using some silly pics I took of my sis a while back. Well, she thinks the pics are silly...I think she looks really cute! I love the way it came out. I lifted it off of 2 Peas.
Here's a LO I did for one of the last Sneaky challenges. I love these pics of Miguel!
After I did a bit of cleaning up today, I decided to take the kids for a little walk to the school. I had wanted to let them play in the little playground, but the gate had a lock on it and I didn't want to cross them over the gate. Instead we just walked all around the school and the middle school right next to it. It is such a nice day today!! Not a cloud in the sky, not too hot..not too cold...nice little breeze. It was a great day for walking! I got a couple of really good shots of the kids! :)
Well, the kids are driving me nuts and I need to go downstairs to get them fed. I am hoping that I can have some time to scrap after buying all those goodies yesterday. I did some cleaning...I deserve it!! :)

Another LO
I managed to do one LO today. I always feel so cruddy when I can't scrap...don't know why. These past couple of days though, I've been in a creative funk though. It took me FOREVER to crank out those last two LOs that I really liked. For some reason...I'm "wanting" to scrap, but just not "feeling it" :( :( My sis however has been scrapping like crazy! Maybe she can be kind enough to pass me some of that scrappy mojo over here :)
Mikey said something funny today. We were in my scraproom and I was scrapping and he was sitting across the table from me watching a movie on the DVD player. I kept hearing him make some "noises" and I asked him if he needed to go use the potty. I'm not potty training him at the moment. I mean, I had a couple months back and he did really good with the peeing, but only when I would take him every 15 minutes. He wouldn't tell me on his own if he had to go between then and he'd just pee in his pull up. So, seeing how those darn things are kind of pricey, I just figured I'd wait a while longer and then try again. I got him a little box with 3 books for Easter about a bunny and they are all about different things he needs to learn like brushing his teeth, getting dressed (which he can do already) and going "poop" in the potty! So funny because that book is called "Plop"...LOL Yes, I think it's funny!! LOL So it comes with a chart and you get to put a sticker every time you do one of the things so I keep telling him that if he poops in the potty, he will get a sticker and then he can wear his Wiggles underwear or we can get him some Sponge Bob ones. ANYWAY, back to my story. So I keep asking him because he continues to make the noises. So I get up and check inside his diaper and nothing. Again..."Mikey, do you have to poop?" He tells me no. "Are you sure?" Again..."no". "If you need to go, tell me...." I guess he got tired of me asking because he says..."MOM, TRUST me!" LMBO!! I just KNOW he had to have picked that up from Elijah! I thought it was so funny! So, here's the LO I did. I'm pretty happy with it and I think the pic is really cute even though Mikey is a bit blurry and Lij looks like he has no body after I turned the pic to black and white and photo edited it a bit! LOL Oh well! :)

Shabby Chic Challenge
We had to do a shabby chic LO for this week's Sneaky Challenge and I just LOVED doing it! I don't know if it's "my thing" because alot of people have told me that my style is more clean and simple, but I think I can pretty much imitate any kind of style. Anyway, I really had fun with this challenge and am really loving the finished product! I took one of the older LOs out of one of the frames in my sb room and put this LO in there.

I also "redid" the LO with the pic of me and Miguel that I just loved SO much! I really wasn't happy with the way the first one came out. Even though I loved the colors and wanted to use something fun and bright for it, it just didn't come out looking like what I wanted. I think I had really high expectations for the LO since I just loved the pic so much...oh, the pressure! LOL Anyway, I am ALOT happier with the second try and I hung this LO in my scraproom too! I think these two LOs puts me at 32 for the year so far. That's all for now! TFL :)

BTW, there's no glare on the pic of me and Miguel...I think that was the flash while I was taking the LO pic!

I've been MIA for a while....
We ended up staying at my mom's over Spring Break and she doesn't have a computer....I was in MAJOR withdrawals! LOL I had my nephew with me since that Tuesday too, so with THREE kids, I had my hands full! The kids had fun though. That Tuesday, my sis and I had the kids with us while we did some shopping and then went back to her house to let the kids play some games on the Wii. On Friday, I took Lij and Matthew to the zoo. Boy, I did NOT know it was going to be that packed!! OMGosh, the line to get in to the zoo was INSANE!! I know that ppl start camping out that weekend to save their picnic spots for Easter Sunday, but I didn't know that many people would be wanting to get into the zoo. They had four seperate lines to buy tickets and we had to wait about 20 minutes before we got in. Once we did, it wasn't that bad....until we went into the little cafe they have there for lunch and the line there was just as long! We waited a while there too. It took us less time to eat than the time we stood in line!! We spent about three hours walking around and then we took the little train ride around the park too. The kids had a great time! I got some really good pics that I can't wait to scrap!

Am I Going Crazy??
I have done some pretty stupid things, SAID alot of things that make absolutely NO sense...even to me! LOL I'm convinced it's "mommy brain". I am constantly writing things down on lists I have up on the fridge: TO Do lists, GROCERY lists, STUFF TO PACK lists.... yet I STILL sometimes walk into a room and forget what I'm doing there or end up forgetting stuff at the grocery store, or spend the weekend at my mom's and forget something I really needed. Anyway, last night I am talking to my mom on the phone and sitting in the bathroom before I take a shower and she's telling me how the neighbor lady told her that she has just had a man break one of her windows and try to break into her house while she was there with her grandson. Fortunately, when the man saw that people where home, he left. But my mom says "and she was just about to get into the shower". I ALWAYS take the phone in the bathroom with me when I'm showering especially if the kids are with me so I'm sitting there looking around for the phone, making sure I brought it with me and I can't find it. I'm looking on the sink, in the towel basket, all the while talking to my mom ON THE PHONE!! HELLO??? Am I losing it?? I don't know WHAT I was thinking? And my mom is always afraid that she's getting Alzheimer's because stuff like this happens to her. Well, I'm only 36, so what is MY excuse?? LOL I need some sleep...I need my brain back...I need a vacation...I need SOMETHING!
ANYWAY, today I scrapped this cute little mini LO for a challenge on Sneaky. Sticking with the "blue" theme, we had to use something OLD, something NEW, something BORROWED and something BLUE. I was browsing my sis's BOS on 2 Peas and came across a really cute project that immediately inspired me to make this and I'm really LOVING the way it turned out. I put it on a shelf in my scraproom. I think maybe I'll try making one with a pic of me and Lij. That's all for now..it's eleven and I should get to sleep. Thank God it's Friday tomorrow and I don't have to wake up at six a.m. for two days! YAY!!
