Owl how to....

There wasn't much to making the little owls. These were the basic shapes I drew for the bigger pieces of the owl.

They are a little "off", but I just eyed it and fixed it with the scissors when I was cutting the pieces out of the patterned paper. For the eyeballs, I just cut those out of white cardstock freehand and then drew in the "pupils" with a black Sharpie. After I glued all the pieces together, I just traced parts of it with a fine tip Sharpie marker. It just occurred to me that I could also try making some of these from felt! And googly eyes might be really cute on these too! If anyone does decide to make their own, please post a link...I'd love to see your creations :)

Some Homemade scrap goodies and a RAK :)

I scrapped a page last night. It was a lift from 2 Peas I believe. This puts me at #93!! Wooohooo!! I have so many pics I want to scrap, but never enough time or mojo. I felt like creating today, but didn't want to go through the whole looking for inspiration, picking papers and embellies and so on. So while I was browing my usual blogs, I came across Michelle's L's blog and I just loved the little owl she has in her..what do you call it? Um..."banner" at the top of her page. Not sure if I'm calling it the right thing. I don't know if she made her little owl or if it's something store bought, but I thought I'd try to duplicate one. I thought it came out so cute, I decided to make a few! I can't wait to use them on a page! So, here's where the RAK comes in. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of them and I will randomly pick a winner to receive some of my little friends :) Going to go watch a movie now and enjoy the rest of my time with Lij before we have to take him back to Gilbert's! TFL :)

BTW, these little owls were handmade. I just drew them free hand...the body piece, the "face" piece, cut out the eyes from white cs and just freehand cut the wings too. I'll draw some out later and post pics of the different pieces for those of you who want to make your own :)
