My scrappy mojo can't last forever! LOL I have kind of been on a scrapping kick for a bit now and I'm wondering when the mojo is just going to decide to up and leave me!! I found this awesome looking LO that just inspired me with all it's bright, fun colors on Michelle L's blog and just knew I had to lift it. I didn't copy it exactly, but I did get the ideas from her LO so I need to give credit where credit is due :) It always confuses me exactly what "lifting" means. I mean, if you don't use the exact same things and title, ect..is it still a lift? I'm curious what everyone else thinks. I always tell where I lifted from because it makes me feel like a cheater to be claiming someone else's ideas...even if I didn't copy exactly. Anyway, I believe this puts me at #94. I have some more pics printed out on my table that I want to scrap. They are of Mikey and Lij at Kiddie Park when Miguel took them on his vaca. Yep, I still have pics from WAY back then! I'm not the kind of scrapper who tries to "catch up" with their pics, but I just feel like I have so many good ones that I just want to work with, but don't always have all the time I'd like. What a bummer that I can't just scrap the day away! Well, thanks for looking at my LO! Night!

Owl how to....
There wasn't much to making the little owls. These were the basic shapes I drew for the bigger pieces of the owl.

They are a little "off", but I just eyed it and fixed it with the scissors when I was cutting the pieces out of the patterned paper. For the eyeballs, I just cut those out of white cardstock freehand and then drew in the "pupils" with a black Sharpie. After I glued all the pieces together, I just traced parts of it with a fine tip Sharpie marker. It just occurred to me that I could also try making some of these from felt! And googly eyes might be really cute on these too! If anyone does decide to make their own, please post a link...I'd love to see your creations :)

Some Homemade scrap goodies and a RAK :)
I scrapped a page last night. It was a lift from 2 Peas I believe. This puts me at #93!! Wooohooo!! I have so many pics I want to scrap, but never enough time or mojo. I felt like creating today, but didn't want to go through the whole looking for inspiration, picking papers and embellies and so on. So while I was browing my usual blogs, I came across Michelle's L's blog and I just loved the little owl she has in her..what do you call it? Um..."banner" at the top of her page. Not sure if I'm calling it the right thing. I don't know if she made her little owl or if it's something store bought, but I thought I'd try to duplicate one. I thought it came out so cute, I decided to make a few! I can't wait to use them on a page! So, here's where the RAK comes in. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of them and I will randomly pick a winner to receive some of my little friends :) Going to go watch a movie now and enjoy the rest of my time with Lij before we have to take him back to Gilbert's! TFL :)
BTW, these little owls were handmade. I just drew them free hand...the body piece, the "face" piece, cut out the eyes from white cs and just freehand cut the wings too. I'll draw some out later and post pics of the different pieces for those of you who want to make your own :)

A Trip to the Circus...
We took the kids to the Shriner's Circus today. Miguel had gotten a couple of those free admission tickets for the kids so we went. He took today off because of a trip he has to make tomorrow for an ACTS retreat so he picked Lij up from his dad's last night so that we could all go. I was so happy to see Lij and so glad that I got an extra night with him! I miss him so much when he's gone. Last night after Mikey fell asleep, I let him stay up playing video games while I slept on one of the couches. He ended up falling asleep in the big couch across from me and I remember waking up in the middle of the night and looking over at him and just feeling so happy...so happy that he was home and so close by and safe...just a good, warm, fuzzy feeling. Anyway, we saw the 4:30 show. We got there a bit early and they weren't letting people in...don't know why...so we had to wait outside in the HOT sun for about 30 minutes. The kids didn't seem to mind though. And we had gotten them some of those little, red Shriner hats so their heads were a little protected! BTW, there were clowns walking around the whole time taking pics with the kids and signing their little hats...so cute!! We got some really good seats right up front. I haven't been to the circus since I was VERY little so I have no idea how many people go to these things or maybe it was just because it was still pretty early in the day, but there weren't too many people there. Before the circus...they had all kinds of fun things set up for the kids, face painting (really not FACE painting because they were doing it on the kids' arms), pony rides, elephant rides, moon bounces. The elephant rides were $10 and the pony rides were $7....so pricey!! Mikey rode a pony and both Lij and Mikey were going to ride the elephant, but Mikey backed out at the last minute. He sat there on the elephant the whole time they were loading other kids on, but as soon as it was going to move, he decided he wanted off!! So Lij rode alone. Both Lij and Mikey got "painted" too...Lij got a cool, glittery dragon and Mikey got a turtle. The circus itself was so cool. They had acrobats, and a tiger tamer guy, guys riding bikes inside that big steel circle thing (yes, that's what it's called!LOL), gymnasts, an elephant show...so many things..oh and guy got shot out of a cannon! THAT was SOOOO cool!!! It was a blast and the kids both had such a good time. I didn't get many pics at the circus and the ones I took didn't come out very well because it was really dark in there and I had to use the night setting which flashes three times and the kids would move before the third flash went off. I also got some cute pics of us together in the backyard while Miguel was cleaning up the truck before we left. Of course, Mikey is blurred out or cut off from some of the pics because he just cannot sit still long enough! LOL TFL :)

WOOOOOHOOOO...I'm at # 92!!!
Yes, I was able to squeeze in another LO today!! I had the idea to do a LO of Lij with this title for a while because I wanted to journal about how much I love the special person that he is. I am really happy with it and this one again, is all me :)
Today was a hard workout day. Sometimes it's not as hard....I can easily do 30 minutes even longer, but today for some reason...my legs were really hurting and my allergies are acting up which makes it very hard to breathe especially if I'm running...and then my Ipod went out halfway through my workout. I had to do the last of it without music :( I did finish though and did my ab exercises too. I get so discouraged sometimes, but I don't want to quit...I WILL keep going..no matter how much it hurts!

Tonight me and my friend Melissa were having such an interesting conversation about being a parent/mother and she showed me this quote which I just LOVE and know that I have to use it on a layout!!
Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
So true!! You never know just how much you are going to love your kids! I mean, they are your children and of course you are going to love them, but I don't know if we are prepared to feel this kind of BIG love! It's overwhelming sometimes, but I wouldn't change it for the world!!
Hmm...what else? Not much else to report...LOL It's 12:34 p.m. and all is right with my world :) Mikey is sleeping...FINALLY...and so is Miguel..on the couch and snoring. My mom's been asleep for hours already...LOL..and I will be heading there soon too!! Good night :)

One for the Road
Okay, it's almost one a.m., but I just had to take advantage of the scrappy mojo just in case Chon takes it from me for a while! I love this LO too and this one is all ME! This puts me at #91 LOs..so Chon, you'd better have a scrappython and catch up! And hope that I don't scrap three MORE LOs tomorrow! LOL JK...don't know if I will have the mojo or the time. Good night!

A Funny
I caught Mikey a while ago trying to swallow a piece of dental floss my mom gave him. When I asked him why, he said "Because Jesus needs it". I told him I didn't think Jesus wanted a piece of used floss. And he replies "Yes, he does...he needs to floss his teeth!" Oh, Mikey!
There is a back story to this. We always tell Mikey that Jesus lives inside him. I guess he figured what better way to get something to Him, than to swallow it! Crazy kid!

Neener, neener...I'm at # 90!!!
I did two LOs today! YAY! I hadn't scrapped in like a week...or it seemed that long! I didn't get the opportunity to last night like I had planned, so today I skipped the treadmill (this will be one of my "off" days) and scrapped instead. I am really loving both of my pages. They are both about Lij. I try to alternate between the kids with my pages so that I don't spend too much time just making Mikey pages or Lij pages...trying to be fair :) I think I'm due for another "me" LO or maybe one of me and Miguel. Don't know if I'll get any more scrapping done today or even tomorrow since I need to workout. I'm still going at it...doing at least 30 minutes a day/2 miles, but up to an hour which usually amounts to 4 miles. I am still alternating running/walking. I would LOVE to be able to run the whole time non stop, but I just haven't gotten there yet. Miguel tells me he can run 30 minutes without stopping at 6.0...I am in awe of him! LOL I run at 4.5 and walk at 3.5. I know I'll get there eventually because before, I had been able to run at 5.0 and was able to run - the most I ever did - 13 minutes non stop which was one mile. That was a big deal for me. I know I just have to stick with it. And even if I'm not losing the pounds, I know that it's just healthier for me to stay in some kind of shape. Anyway, here are my LOs. TFL :) Oh and this is for Chon...."neener, neener, neener...you can't catch me!" LOLOL :)

I made a little trip to M's yesterday after we took Elijah back to Gilbert's house(And BTW, he LOVED the frame I made him). I was thinking of getting this MAMBI boy themed paper pad I had seen there the last time...don't remember what it was called, but after looking at it more closely, there were just too many sheets that I did not like at all. The same went for almost all the thicker pads of paper they had there in the 40% off section. I opted for getting the Basic Grey Urban Prairie pad which I think has 36 sheets (2 of each pattern). It has some really nice ones that I just LOVE! I like this BG line more than others I have or have seen before because they patterns aren't "too pattern-y" where I don't know how to use it or where to cut it. I can see myself using these.
On Saturday, Lij and I went to Crossroads and I got a few more papers at Hobby Lobby especially that grid paper I just loved so much! I want to use it for everything! LOL I took some pics of Lij in front of that same fountain where I took pics of Mikey, but Lij was not quite as cooperative. He said the sun kept shining in his eyes even though the sun was BEHIND him and not in front of him. I only got one good pic, but I guess it's better than nothing. I wanted to try to scrap tonight now that Mikey has FINALLY fallen asleep after NO nap today, but I'm a bit tired too and don't know if I'm feelin' the mojo. I don't want to go to bed though because this is my "me, quiet time"....must relish it! That's all for now! :)

A gift
When I first saw this picture I took of Elijah's dad with his baby girl, I knew I wanted to make something special for him with it. I used an 8x10 frame, but took out the glass because I wanted it to be dimensional and I knew I couldn't use the embellishments I wanted to with the glass in. I really love the way it turned out. I used part of the lyrics to the "I Loved Her First" song by Heartland. I hope he likes it! BTW, this puts my LO count at #88 I think.
